Dream it.

I was born in Colombia and raised in Queens, NY. As a young adult I did not have many opportunities and decided to follow my heart and serve my country.

While I served in the military I experienced combat and was faced with many challenges. I am not a stranger to grief, pain and struggle. I lost two of my closest friends, lost my leg, and ultimately, lost myself.

What kept me thriving was hope.

Hope led me to people and those people led me to bobsledding. Learning to bobsled led me to my purpose: to serve my country again and to work together with my fellow bobsledders from around the world to get Para Bobsleigh accepted in the Paralympic Games.

hard at work

USA Para Bobsleigh has grown throughout the years. As new pilots are introduced to the sport the competition continues to grows. The USA can only race three pilots per Paralympic game. This helps us all grow as we compete for a spot on the team. Everyday I work on keeping myself physically and mentally ready in order to compete. It’s been an honor to compete against and race with some of the USA’s best para bob pilots. To lead as a team captain is a greater honor.

Fueling the dream

As much as I work personally towards my goals, I wouldn’t be here, alive, without my family. My mother, sister and wife have been with me through the hardest times of my life. They have helped and supported me through my recovery. They fuel and motivate me everyday.

Kim Seevers is the driving force turning this dream into a reality. Without her I would not have found this passion or the strength to pursue this dream.

Building Homes for Heroes provided my family and I a safe home and they continue to be my biggest supporter towards this dream. See More Sponsors
