David Kirkpatrick

PFC David Austin Kirkpatrick of Matthews, Indiana was a 2006 graduate of Eastbrook High School. David collected guns, old trucks, and loved reading books about the military. He spent most of his time outside in the woods exploring the land on the family farm in NE Indiana. During high school he began his career as a mechanic by taking classes at Tucker Career and Technology Center. He loved working on vehicles and continued this as he lived out his life long goal of serving his country in the Army. He was 20 years old when he was killed in action on April 27, 2007.

He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Rhonda (Staines) Kirkpatrick and by his sisters Carrie Kirkpatrick, Jennie Kirkpatrick, Nettie (Kirkpatrick) Greulich, and Emily Kirkpatrick. He also has three nephews he would have loved very much- Austin, Keaton, and Lincoln Greulich.

David Kirkpatrick was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Action Badge for service while deployed to the Theater of Iraq.

Eddie Tamez

Eddie Tamez enlisted in the United States Army a month after graduating from high school in 2004. He graduated from Army Basic Training with honors and went to his advance individual training to become a chemical specialist as his military occupational specialty. His first duty assignment was to Germany. Afterwards, he returned to the United States and was reassigned to Delta Company where he would later deploy to Iraq in the early part of 2007.

SPC Tamez’s earned the Expert Marksmanship Badge, Deutsch Expert Marksmanship Badge and accumulated numerous awards to include the Global War on Terrorism - Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Posthumously, Eddie was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Action Badge for service while deployed to the Theater of Iraq.

He is survived by his wife, Keyris Sanchez Tamez; father, Henry Arreola; mother, Magdalena Dunn and sister, Magdalena Romero.
